We are looking forward to conveying this interesting and colorful mining history through our products. Storytelling is a core value in Basecamp products and on this kind of historical location, in one of most advanced mine operation in the world, it will definitely give a new perspectives of nature in combination with the industrial aspect, says CEO&nbsp;<strong>Steinar Rorgemoen<\/strong>&nbsp;in Basecamp Spitsbergen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/basecampexplorer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Svea-mining-Spitsbergen-1000x623.jpg\" alt=\"Svea-mining-Spitsbergen.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-52\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Svea is located 60 km south of Longyearbyen and we will travel on snowmobiles through the majestic landscape with glaciers, vast valleys and frozen tundra. This is a new dimension for tourism on Svalbard, says Rorgemoen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basecamp is planning longer, several day expeditions visiting both Svea and Isfjord Radio. Svea is perfectly placed for further exploring the east coast and also suitable for day trips on snowmobiles from Longyearbyen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an inspiring innovation in a demanding time for the community of Spitsbergen when the coalmining operations are laying of personnel.
